The Power of Small…

Posted: August 27, 2008 in Church, Happenings

Our 3rd small group meeting is tonight.  So far, it’s been a very powerful experience (and we’ve only met twice).

I’m a firm believer that life change happens in small groups.  Let me de-religionize that:  We finally begin to “get” this whole “god-thing” when surrounded by real friends who are willing to engage in real, even difficult conversations about life – and our life is changed by the experience.  This morning, I heard about someone who can’t wait until tonight.  Big deal?  Yes.  This person has been unchurched, and has faced some pretty difficult circumstances.  Yet, this person cannot wait to come hang out with us “church” people and spend some time in God’s word.  How awesome is that?  And that’s just ONE story…

I feel a God-centered momentum building in the lives of people whom He’s changing/working on…and I cannot wait to see what happens… in their lives, and in our church!
