Good eatin’; but not sleepin’

Bonefish Grill

THE GOOD:  Eating at Bonefish Grill – enjoying appetizers of eggrolls, spicy shrimp, and calamari; enjoying a meal of Imperial Mahi (Mahi smothered with light cheese sauce, shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat), au gratin potatoes, half of a lobster tail; and enjoying a macademia nut chocolate brownie with ice cream and raspberry sauce for dessert.  Taste buds are happy.

THE BAD:  Now I can’t sleep.  Go figure.  It’s like a fish and a lobster are in a caged deathmatch in my abdomen, and the scallops, shrimp, and squid are cheering in the stands.  Whee!

Still, it was all worth it to have a good time with Stacey, Dave, Dana, Jack, Pam, Kenny, Debbie, Becky, and Tim (the Crosspoint staff).

THINGS TO BLOG ABOUT AT 2:00 A.M.:

  • My son turns 3 on Sunday, and we’re throwing him a birthday party tomorrow.  I hope some kids show up.  It’s a bad weekend for a party (Sunday being Mother’s Day and all).  Still, I know my son will have a good time if the weather cooperates.
  • The weather might be serious tomorrow evening/tomorrow night.  Great…nothing like a sleepless night of thunderstorms before a BIG Sunday morning.
  • We’ll probably be the only church in Alabama performing a Demon Hunter song Sunday morning.  That’s a good thing.
  • I’m finishing up my video-editing (a video is rendering in another window as I type).  Unfortunately, I goofed something up and rendered the pre-service countdown to end at 3:21 instead of 0:00 (I inadvertantly selected only a partial area of the video in my Sony Vegas workspace to render…could be funny to psych people out on Sunday by stopping the countdown at 3:21…okay, maybe not).  Since I’m up anyway, I might as well do something productive like fix this goof-up.
  • We get to watch Jeff Dunham in church on Sunday – also probably something no other church in Alabama is doing Sunday morning.  But it’s all for Jesus, baby…
  • Demon Hunter + Jose the Jalepeno (on a stick)…might make you wonder just how this will tie in to Sunday’s topic:  “Prison Break: Break Free from Unforgiveness.”
  • Wow…25 minutes time remaining on my re-render of the video countdown.  To heck with waiting up for that to finish.  I’m going to bed…  if my stomach will let me, that is.  Anyone have any Tums?

i’ve always wanted to eat at Bonefish, but haven’t made it yet. maybe one day.

  2. Well worth the experience. Kinda makes you realize (even more) how sucky restaurants in Decatur are :-(.

It’s pretty cool when someone comes in your place of work & says, “I heard y’all did a Demon Hunter song at your church Sunday.” I guess we had a teenager visit Sunday that told another one, that told another one, that told a guy I work with. I love that. You guys did a great job.

The guy I work with keeps coming in my office and grunging “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus” instead of “Count the cost of your vile means, Solace comes to less”. It’s hilarious. He says that’s what they’re going to do Sunday. He’s very jealous.
