From high-tech to low-tech

Posted: October 18, 2007 in Church, Happenings

After spending Wednesday night immersed in the technology that is HD-DVD and the Transformers movie, I’m going decidedly low-tech this weekend as several of us from church will go camping in Bankhead National Forest.  All the severe weather (which was really a ‘bust’ for our area) will be gone, and tomorrow night should be beautiful – lows in the low 50s/upper 40s, highs in the 70s – PERFECT camping weather.

I love sleeping under the stars.  I love campfires.  I love the sound of the woods at night.  It’s great to spend some time bonding with God and friends away from the distractions of everyday life – including the aforementioned goodness that is HD-DVD ;-).  It’s so simple, yet so fun, it does make me wonder why we get distracted so easily

The only real rule for the camping trip?  No Kum-bay-yah.  Heh.
