Es schneit.

Okay, my German’s a little rusty.  I either said, “It’s snowing” or something far more vulgar.  But I think I said, “it’s snowing.”

Yes, it’s snowing.  Most snowflakes/accumulation I’ve seen in years.  It’s been worth staying up until 1:45 in the morning to watch it.  I think.  I may regret it in the a.m.

I hate it that all indications are that it won’t last, especially since I’ve got a 4-year-old daughter who has never seen anything other than snow flurries (having lived in Decatur all her life). It was almost heartbreaking tonight when she asked if she coud make a snowman when she got up in the morning. We told her that the rain would probably “wash” the snow away before she’d have a chance to do that. Seeing her disappointment (to put it mildly), we compromised and let her stay up WAY past her bedtime to watch the snow falling outside.

Still, it’s nice to see some snow at all, even if you have to stay up in the wee hours of the morning to see it.

On the bright side, winter’s not over yet…
